RELIEF MEETING

PERMIT GRANTED FOR TWO DAYS’ TROTS FIXTURE AT EPSOM Advice has been received that the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, has granted permission to the Auckland Trotting Club to hold a two days’ unemployment relief fund meeting. This will probably be held in August. All taxation will be remitted* and 50 per cent, of the profits of the meeting will go to the Auckland Hcspit&! and Charitable Aid Board, while th* remainder will be handed over to the Mayor, on behalf of the City Council, to be distributed in wages only. The committee of the Auckland Trotting Club will meet next week to discuss the proposal.
