FROSTS IN WELLINGTON
SEVERE JUNE WEATHER Special to THE SUN WELLINGTON, Today. Wellington is passing through an unusually cold June. Night frosts are common, and evidence of the severity of the weather is contained in the fact that yesterday, Somes Island, the long whale-like shape in the centre of the harbour, which holds the Quarantine station and was used as an internment camp for aliens during the war, had its first frost for three years. 23 DEGREES RECORDED Press Association ASHBURTON, Today. Following snow on Saturday, one inch being recorded in the Ashburton Borough, 23 degree's of frost were registered at Mount Somers yesterday. This is a low temperature record.
