FOUND DROWNED

MISSING HAMILTON WOMAN From Our Chen Correspondent HAMILTON, Friday. The body of Mrs. Jessie Mayes, widow, who had been missing from her home, Grey Street, Hamilton East, since June 4, was recovered by the police from the Waikato River early yesterday afternoon. ■ An inquest was held by the coroner, Mr. Wyvern Wilson. Evidence was given that Mrs. Mayes was seen in Victoria Street walking in the direction of the bridge about nine o’clock on the evening of June 4. A witness said he heard a loud splash and muffled moans from the railway bridge about 9.20 p.m. Tbe police stated that the watch cn deceased’s wrist was found to have stopped at 9.23 p.m. The,_ coroner returned a verdict of found drowned.
