RIALTO, NEWMARKET

In an ever-changing world there still remains interest in romance and adventure associated with those who, with horse, gun and lassuo, made their homes in the rugged country' of middle west America. That the march of civilisation has not annihilated this innate love is shown by the reception of “The Lone Stax* Ranger” at the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket. The talking screen adaptation of Zan© Grey’s well-known novel of the great outdoors. “The Lone Star Ranger,” with its stirring action, makes a universal appeal. It is a far cry to the days when every man in the West sought to be a law unto himself, and the one who could “draw” the quickest was acknowledged leader. The atmosphere of the West, with its prairies and rocky' country', the hiding place of desperate bandits, is reproduced in a convincing manner in this production. The second big talkie attraction is “The Doctor’s Secret.” based on Sir James Barrie's play, “Half an Hour,” and starring Ruth Chatterton and IT. B. Warner.
