ST. HELIERS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the St. Heliers Bowling Club was held last evening, the president, Mr. A. Twiname, presiding over a large attendance of members. Although the club did not succeed in winning any of the Auckland Centre’s competitions, its members were well represented and showed good form. The balance sheet disclosed that the finances of the club were in a healthy state. Reference was made to the loss suffered by the club through the death of two very popular members, Messrs. W. McLaren and C. W. Garrard. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. W. P. Endear., M.P.: president, Mr. H. L. Koefoed; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. C. J. Lovegrove and A. Duthie; lion, secretary, Mr. M. Smith; lion, treasurer, Air. A. G. Cottrell; general committee. Messrs. A. Reid, T. Price, and W. Philip; green superintendent, Mr. H. J. Brewer; umpires, Messrs. J. Crawshaw and W. Philip; coach, Mr. T. Price; delegates, president and secretary; match committee, Messrs. Wright, P. Norris and P. White; auditor, Mr. J. W. Carr. It was decided to enter ] 0 teams in the Auckland Centre’s pennant competition. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, the members of the Auckland Centre, and the Press. PONSONBY CLUB The annual meeting of the Ponsonby Bowling Club was held at the club’s pavilion .on Thursday evening. The meeting was well attended. The retiring president, Mr. J. Kchischka. in vacating tlie chair, thanked his committee and members of tlie club for their loyal support during his term of office and hoped that the incoming president would receive the same co-operation and assistance. Air. L. S. Kelly, in taking the chair, thanked Air. Schischka for his kind remarks and said he felt confident that next season would be a good one, as many new members were joining the club It was decided to continue in the pennant competition. The following officers were elected: President, Air. L. S. Kelly; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. S. Rowbottom, W. T. Brown and W. Parkinson; committee, Messrs. W. J. Lovatt, A. W. Bryant, D. Alclnriess and A. J. Letham; green superintendent, Air. A. assistant green superintendents, Messrs. J. Rolfe and R. Drummond; lion, auditor, Air. AI. J. Jones; bon. treasurer. Air. J. Rolfe; hon. secretary. Air. H. J. Colebrook; selectors. Air. E. Jury and Air. J. Yeale: delegates to Auckland Centre, Messrs. L. S. Kelly, A. W. Bryant and 11. J. Colebrook.
