BUTCHERS’ STRIKE CREATES SHORTAGE OF MEAT 48-HOUR WEEK RESENTED Reed. 10.25 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Sydney may be faced with a meat shortage next week as the result of a strike by 2,000 meat workers, who refuse to work a 48-hour week. All slaughtering and distribution to the trade is now at a standstill.
