Cecil Charles, who was convicted of the murder of his father at Windsor. was sentenced to death. Charles denied the charge and declared the crime was committed by some unknown madman. The police on April 15 arrested Cecil Charles, aged 53, on a charge of murdering his father, James Charles, aged 79, who was discovered dead in a paddock in the Windsor district. His head had been terribly injured. The body was covered with a neatly-folded hag. Charles, who lived in a hut near the scene, informed the police his father had been missing since Monday afternoon. He said he could not suggest a, motive for a murder.
