Euchre and 500 parties have been held regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and these have augmented the pavilion funds considerably. The officers and members have shown a helping spirit, the bowling green having been entirely top-dressed since closing down. The future for the club looks bright for next season, nine new members having joined up at the annual meeting. The president, in congratulating the ! members of the club, both from a play l ing and financial point of view, said it wds very gratifying to find that, although the membership had decrease! : considerably, the playing strength had been maintained. The club had achieved considerable success in tournaments, notably the semi-finals of the Bendigo Bowls and the semi-finals of the Auckland Centre’s champion pairs, while a rink skipped by J. L. Wakerley was successful against a, rink skipped by W. H. Keatley in the final of the King’s Birthday tournament at Auckland. As regards the financial position, the club was in a better position by £56 than last season. Thanks were due to the women of the Croquet Club, who had contributed and raised approximately £127 during the year. It was decided to ask for a reduced representation in the pennant competi- . tion, as the average attendance was 48 last season and 12 rinks had been entered, and the club had some difficulty in finding the players. NOMADS’ GAMES OFF Owing- to the state of the weather the bowling matches, Nomads v. Mount Albert, which were to have been played tomorrow, have been postponed till Saturday, June 28.
