TAKAPUNA WEDDING
BRIDE IN BLUE CARRIES BOUQUET OF CORNFLOWERS BONNINGTON— GAMBLE A wedding that created considerable local interest was celebrated at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Takapuna, on Wednesday aftenooon, when Mary Spencer, daughter ot Mrs. and the late Mr. W. Nelson Gamble, was married to Reginald Charles, second son of Air. and Airs. I-T. E. Bonnington, of Ashburton, Canterbury. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. W. G. Monckton, M.A. The bride, who was given away by Mr. E. E. Grimwade, wore a frock of pastel blue georgette, the corsage being quite plain, with a girdle surmounted by a buckle of brilliants. The skirt had two side flares with an overlay at one side, and dipped at the back. With which was worn a toning blue chiffon velvet coatee. She wore a toning blue felt hat and carried a shower bouquet of blue and pink cornflowers. Aliss Margaret Henderson attended tiie bride as maid, wearing beige floral silk taffeta, with a hat of toning felt fashioned on Early Victorian lines, bho carried a bouquet of autumntinted marigolds and lichen. All;. Gordon Bonnington, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at "Roslyn,” Hurstmere Road the residence of the bride's mother. Airs. Gamble was frocked in black chiffon velvet and georgette, the skirt being panelled back and front, and having a lace yoke. Miss Meg Gamble, twin sister of the bride, wore royal blue chiffon velvet with a beige felt hat.
