Cca ad film lovers this week, when Maurice Chevalier, the “Happiness Boy” from Paris, is starring in Innocents of Paris," the first picture he made in America, and one of the Dl 7/f il * es *' P* eces he has ever played in. Innocents of Paris” presented Chevalier to his American audiences, and nas introduced him to these distax: parts. Already people are acquainted u remarkable personality tha: holds thousands spellbound; have a nodding acquaintance with his aly brand of humour, and have been completely subjugated by his accent and his funny ways. The star’s leading lady is Sylvia Beecher, the elegant and disdainfayoung woman from the other side oi Paris who, however, at the end, is compelled to find herself acclaiming the new* star of Paris, and who complete* his happiness. Those ballets and concerted numbers which appear as a support for the ata: toward the end of the picture are among the best ensembles produced for the talkies. “The Origin of the Apache,” a comedy highspot of the all-star film “Parsmount on Parade,” is a novel skit witi music in which Maurice Chevalier aw Evelyn Brent are featured.
