ROMNEY SHEEP BREEDERS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD Press Association PALMERSTON X., Thursday. The Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders’ Society elected the following officers-- - President. Mr. Q. Donald (Feather, ston); treasure, Mr. W. F. Jacob (Kiw - ’:ea). The following allocations for championship shields were approved - North Island, spring shields to the Royal Show and autumn shields to the Dannevirke Association: South Island shields to the Canterbury Association the Wheeler Memorial Shield to the Royal Show. The Government is to be urged to bring down legislation for the compulsory registration of all flocks of purebred sheep of any one particular breed in the official flock book of an assoc la - tion which has been duly incorpora ted to control the breed in question. It was considered that the time had arrived for seeking Parliamentary power to place this matter of unified control on a proper footing by having each breed controlled by a separatr association and not having as at present. two controlling bodies for sever;.’, of the largest breeds.
