WILL LEAD N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM A SELECTOR’S RESIGNATION C. E. Gregory (Auckland) has been appointed captain of the New Zealand League team to tour Australia, and A. Eckhoff (Otago) vice-captain. This was decided at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rukby League last night.

Gregory is one of the best known and most popular players in the Dominion. He was an Auckland Rukby representative in 1923 before joining the League code and was a member of the 1925 League team 'which toured Australia. He has represented New Zealand on many occasions. Eckhoff captained the South Island team this year, and is recognised as one of the best generals in the game. MR. ASHER RESIGNS At last night’s meeting of the council, Mr. E. K. Asher tendered his resignation. He was thanked for his services.
