COAL FOR NEW ZEALAND
DUTY MAY BE IMPOSED ON AUSTRALIAN PRODUCT COMMONWEALTH’S ATTITUDE CANBERRA, Thursday. At question time in the House of Representatives today Mr. F. M. Forde, Acting-Minister of Customs, said he was not aware of any decision at present by the New Zealand Government to impose a duty on coal from Australia. Members could rest assured that the fullest consideration would be given to any claims by the Dominion in that respect, as the Commonwealth Government was desirous of bringing about more satisfactory relations with New Zealand.
