KEPT UP TRADE WHILE ON REMAND HIS THIRD OFFENCE While awaiting sentence on one charge of selling liquor without a licence, William Buckley, of 232 Hobson Street, was unable to resist the temptation to make another sale. He was sentenced at the Police Court this morning to three months’ imprisonmentl on each charge, the terms being made concurrent. Buckley appeared for sentence on a charge of selling liquor without a licence oh April 17, and pleaded guilty to a similar charge concerning June 14. They had taken'away three bottles. “He, will do it, and that’s all there is to it,” commented Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. “After he had heard other men being fined for sly-grogging, he went straight out and did it again himself. He takes no notice of the court.” Remarking that Buckley, for his third offence, was liable to a fine of £IOO, or six months’ imprisonment, Mr. Hunt imposed the sentence of two terms of three months’ imprisonment, to be served concurrently. “I thought you told me last time you were here you were going to give up this business and get employment at a chemical works,” said the magistrate.
