MILK FOR CHILDREN

WELLINGTON SCHOOLS SCHEME HALF-PINT FOR A PENNY Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. A proposal has been made to the Education Board by the City Milk Department to provide every school child with half a pint of milk every day at a cost, with a biscuit, of one penny. The idea is to divert part of the surplus milk supply to the schools, as is done in some parts of the Old Country. The Milk Department undertook to make no profit out of it, and the board approved and thanked the department, A circular will be forwarded to parents explaining the* proposal and inquiries will be made of country schools to see if they can introduce a similar scheme.
