BEEF PRICES FIRM Special to THE SUN HAMILTON, Tuesday. There was an average yarding of beef at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards today. The number of fat cows penned was on an average with last week’s entry, the bidding for good quality cow beef being brisk and the prices fully maintained. Light prime beef was very firm at fully late rates. Fat sheep cam© forward in larger numbers and prices showed an increase on ewes and wethers. Prices were slightly easier • for a smaller entry of store sheep. There was a small yarding of both fat and store pigs, the former line remaining on a par with the previous sale, while stores advanced. The auctioneers report as follow; Dalgety and Company, Ltd.—Prime young cows made up to £lO 7s Od; ordinary fat cows, £7 5s to £8 12s 6d; inferior fat cows, £5 17s 6d to £6 3 ss; good heavy runners, £ 5 5s to £3 19s; weaner Shorthorn steers, £2 16s; weaner Shorthorn heifers, £2 4s; dairy heifers, at late rates; fat wethers, 275; fat ewes, up to 20s 6d: light fat ewes, 16s 6d to 17s 6d; light fat wethers, 26s 7d; woolly mixed-sex
