KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR

MAN SERIOUSLY HURT Serious head injuries were suffered by Mr. Murray, aged 78, when he was knocked down by a motor-car on the New North Road, Avondale, about nine o’clock last evening. He was rushed to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance, and this morning he had not regained consciousness. His condition is very serious. The injured man is a caretaker at a brickyard at Avondale, and lived in a building at tlie yard. He has no relatives in Auckland. No improvement was reported in his condition early this afternoon. He was still unconscious.
