FOUND DEAD IN CAR
THAMES CHEMIST’S FATE POISON BOTTLE BESIDE HIM Special to THE SUN TAUPO, Monday. With a bottle bearing the label “poison” beside him, Mr. Robert Kirk, chemist, of Thames, was found dead in the back of a motor-car on the roadside about a mile from Taupo this morning. A Public Works Department roadman, Mr. W. H. Strong, passed the car about seven o’clock when on his way to work. He was informed later by a passer-by that the car was still there, and he reported the matter to Constable W. Brown at Taupo. The car. a closed model, appeared to be in good order and, with the body, was removed to the police station. In the back of the car was found a small bottle with a chemist’s label bearing the word poison. A driver's licence was found in deceased's clothing. It was issued on May 22 by the Thames Borough Council and bore the name Robert Kirk, with the address Pollen Street, Thames
