Besides, in the case of the ordinary elastic stocking a general complaint is prevalent in connection with the necessary opening for the heel, the edges of which curl up, cause discomfort and pain, and ruin the silk stocking. Further, there is a considerable lessening of the longitudinal tension of the ordinary stocking. The following points are features of the “ACADEMIC" STOCKING, and should be noted: 1. Its patent heel is exclusive to this STOCKING. 2. Its flesh colour makes it quite invisible under the lightest and finest silk stockings. 3.
