The Warner Brothers’ picture “Disraeli,” which is continuing its successful season at St. James Theatre, is marked by its purity of English speech, its authenticity of historical detail and its excellence of character portrayal. The English actor George Arliss If cast in the leading role as Disraeli when he was Prime Minister in 1873. His attempts to raise sufficient morr for the purchase of the controlling shares in the Suez Canal and the activities of Russian agents to thwart him provide an interesting plot. The leading roles are played by Clive Brooi. Ruth Chatterton and William Powell. Excellent talkie supports are also being shown. “Butch” is Lon Chaney’s newest He is a large grey cat, who wandered into the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s star dressing room and made friends.
