CRYSTAL PALACE, MOUNT EDEN
The double-feature talkie bill at the Crystal Palace Theatre is headed by Harry Richman’s talkie, “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” “Puttin’ on the Ritz” is a powerful story of vaudeville and Broadway and in it Richman sings a number of original melodies written especially for the picture by Irving Berlin. “The Delightful Rogue,” the second attraction is a glamourous romance of the tropics starring Rod La Rocque and Rita La Roy. REGENT, EPSOM A wife who wanted a career—a husband who wanted to teach her a lesson—a romantic “nobleman” and “the other woman”—this quartet in “Hold Your Man,” at the Regent Theatre, Epsom, supplies more hearty entertainment than the screen has seen in many a moon. Laura La Plante has the starring role in this hilarious Universal dialogue farce-comedy. It is an ideal part for the blonde comedienne, and she gives one of the most polished performances of her distinguished career.
