RUGBY REFEREES

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Auckland Rugby Referees’ Association was held last evening. Mr. M. Kronfeld presided over an attendance of nearly forty members. The Northcote, Parnell and Marathon Clubs applied for a lecture from a member of the Referees’ Association on dates arranged. It was decided to accede to the request. The New Zealand Rugby Union forwarded several rulings in reference to the matches against the British team. Mr. W. J. Meredith, a life member, applied for a transfer to the Rotorua Association. The application was granted. Mr. A. Pauli read a carefully-pre-pared paper on “Scrum Law,” which resulted in an animated discussion. Mr. H. L. Becroft, of Port Albert, attended the meeting to ask for information on the rules.
