Dancing at Dixieland
Bright Evening at Ca haret-hy-the-Sea Dancing at Dixieland was most en- : joyable on Saturday evening, and a large number of dancers spent a very, pleasant time at tlie popular cabaret. Mr. Harry N'eilson and the Dixieland Band were at the top of their form, and dispensed all the new j numbers in great style. Early spring flowers were arranged ! on the tables in the cubicles, and shrubs and palms lined tile walls of ! the entrance hall. AMONG THE DANCERS The Countess of Orford wore a bouffant gown of ivory flowered taffeta inset with lace and relieved with brilliants. Mrs. Oakes had on a slim-fitting frock of conifer green ring velvet with hem of grey fur. Mrs. Edgar Bartleet was in rose and gold grosgrain taffeta, with gracefully dipping hemline. Mrs. Miles was wearing a frock of deep cream lace and georgette, with flounced skirt. Mrs. D. Thompson had chosen a foi'get- ; me-not blue french organdi frock with j frills of lace. Mrs. J. K. Jameson’s gown was of i black georgette and Chantilly lace. Mrs. Ernest Alison had on absinthe ; green faille, with deep yoke of green net. j Mrs. Whitcombe was wearing a bouf- j fant frock of wistaria blue taffeta. Mrs. Nichols had chosen honey-coloured j lace and georgette. Mrs. C. Ackroyd wore a smart gown of cuban orange ta(Xeta Mrs A. G. Jones was wearing a pretty 1 rose and blue sprigged taffeta frock. i Mrs. King was wearing an uneven- ] length frock of black georgette and lace. j Rose and silver grosgrain tafieta was j chosen by Mrs. Alleman. i Mrs C. Suter was in flame and gold shot taffeta inset with black net. Miss Anita Sutherland wore an ankle length gown of black lace, with fingertip length coatee of black paillettes. Miss Read had on an unevenly-pointed frock of water green georgette. Miss Miri Bragato had chosen a smart black frock of tosca net. i Miss Lulu Thomas, Wellington, was wearing poinsettia red georgette. Miss Russell had chosen chartreuse . green georgette and tulle. Miss Hyland’s gown was of hollyhock pink georgette. Miss (I. Leatherbarrow was wearing a smart black chiffon frock, with frilled skirt. Miss Naugliton had on leaf green and silver grosgrain taffeta. Miss Lomax had chosen a pretty flowered frock of pale daffodil chiffon. Miss Flora Shenkin was wearing nymph green moire taffeta. Miss B. Shenkin had chosen a phlox pink gown of satin and taffeta. Miss B. Peak wore a gown of silver lam, with frilled skirt of ivory chiffon. Miss C. Russell was in a bouffant frock of'sprigged taffeta. Miss Gladys Meachman, Dunedin, had chosen a pretty rose and blue flowered chiffon frock. Miss Bates wore a chiffon frock embroidered with green and black beads.
