LAND SETTLEMENT

LEAGUE DELEGATES AT ROTORUA From Our Own Correspondent ROTORUA, Saturday. The delegation of the New Zealand Land Settlement League was welcomed at a meeting presided over by the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, last evening. A large number of businessmen attended. Members of the delegation outlined the policy of the league and its efforts to induce the Government to place suitable men on the land. Mr. N. G. Gribble contended that New Zealand should be able to provide all its own requirements. He gave credit to Sir Apirana Ngata for his efforts at land settlement. In answer to a question Mr. Gribble said the league’s land settlement policy was capable of being brought to a successful issue, even with the present prices of butter-fat.
