AUTUMN SONG
The thrushes in the cedar trees Are singing loud and well; Upon the hill there sweeps a breeze And rings each flower bell. All in their latter leafage now The poplar trees are gay; The leaves are whispering o*n the bough (I wonder what they say?) « I hear sweet music upward roll From flower and bird and tree . . . Shall I, a little human soul. Stay listening silently? —Gloria Rawlinson, aged 11.
