MAUNGANUI LEAVES SYDNEY.—The Union Company’s intercolonial steamer Maunganui left Sydney for Auckland at four o’clock yesterday afternoon. She is due on Tuesday. The vessel has passengers, mail and cargo, which will be landed at Queen’s Wharf.
MAHENO RESUMES TODAY.—After being laid up since May 20 undergoing overhaul, the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Maheno leaves Port Chalmers today for Melbourne, via Bluff. The vessel is due at Melbourne on June 20, and she is to sail for Wellington via Bluff, Dunedin and Lyttelton, on June 26. Her arrival at Wellington is scheduled for July 4.
OTOKIA TO DOCK.—The Union Company’s oil tanker Otokia is to leave Wellington for Auckland at 7 a.m. tomorrow for cleaning and painting. PORT PIRIE CLEARED —Tn
continuation of her voyage from London, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Pirie cleared Suva yesterday afternoon for Port Chalmers, Lyt-
telton and Timaru. She is due at Port Chalmers about next Wednesday.
MAKURA LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO. —Cabled advice kas been received by the Union CompaiF that the Makura left San Francisco at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday for Papeete, Rarotonga, Wellington and Sydney. She is due at Wellington on June 30, and will leave again the following afternoon for Sydney.
RANGITATA DELAYED.—The Now Zealand Shipping Company advises, that the loading of the motor-liner Rangitata at Lyttelton has been delayed, and she is now due at Wellington on Tuesday to fill up. She is scheduled to sail finally from that port on June 21 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal.
KAIRANGA DUE TOMORROW.—The Union Company’s collier Kairanga is due tomorrow from Port Kembla, according to her radio advice. She is to berth at King’s Wharf to unload her coal cargo. She pays off at this port.
HUNTINGDON POSTPONED.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Huntingdon, now at Queen’s Wharf completing her cargo for New York, Halifax and London, is' now to bo dispatched for those ports via the Panama Canal p.m. on Tuesday next.
RANGITANES MOVEMENTS.—Now at Prince’s Wharf putting out the local portion of her cargo of general merchandise from London, the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitane is to sail on Wednesday for Wellington to complete discharge. She wall then proceed to Lyttelton to commence her Homeward loading. She will subsequently load at Auckland( Tokomaru Bay, and Wellington, and is scheduled ’to sail finally from Wellington on July 39 for Southampton and London via the Panama Canal.

KARAMEA FROM LIVERPOOL.— Carrying 6,234 tons of general merchandise, the Shaw. Savill motor-ship Karamea arrived late this morning from Liverpool and berthed at Queen s Wharf. The vessel left Liverpool on Alarcli 12 and cleared Panama on Alay 26. Making excellent time, the ship experienced an uneventful voyage except for the last week, when she ran into rough weather. The ship will discharge 2,280 tons at Auckland and is expected to sail for Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers about Thursday. Captain A. Mclntosh is in command.
THE TAHITI.— The liner Tahiti is due at Wellington on Monday morning from Sydney, en route to San Francisco. She is to leave again on Tuesday afternoon in continuation of her voyage. THE K I WIT E A.— The Union Company advises that the Kiwitea is to load at South Australian ports in July for Dunedin. Timaru. Lyttelton. Wellington. Auckland and Portland, though her order of discharge will not necessarily be as set out. The vessel may also load cargo for Bluff and New Plymouth.
PACIFIC COAST LOADINGS.—For- j ward loadings at Pacific Coast ports by I Union Company steamers are approximately as follow: The Waiotapu wilj load during July for Auckland, Wellington and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on July 23, and is due at Auckland on August 37. The Waikawa will load during - T >!v for Napier. Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, and possibly Bluff. She is to clear Los Angeles on July 33, 'and is due at Napier on August 25. The Wairuna will load during August for Auckland, "Wellington and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on August 21. and is due at Auckland on September 15. AORANGI DELAYED.—A wireless message received by the Union Company from tlTe Royal Mail motor-liner Aorangi, en route from Vancouver to Sydney, states that the vessel is meeting with adverse weather conditions, and does not expect to. arrive in the stream here from Suva before seven o’clock tomorrow night. After pratique has been granted she will berth at Prince’s Wharf to land her New Zealand passengers, mails, and cargo. The Aorangi is announced to resume her voyage to Sydney at four o'clock on Monday afternoon. H.M.S. LABURNUM. —H.M.S. Laburnum, which has been assisting H.M.S. Dunedin at gun and torpedo practice in the Hauraki Gulf, returned to port morning for the week-end. The Dunedin will remain in the gulf until next Friday. MARINE EXAMINATIONS.—The following are the May results of the examinations held by the Marine Department:— Mr. D. Burgess gained his master's certificate, steam (ord.). Mr. R. H. Magnusson gained his second-class engineer’s certificate, steam. Messrs. R. R Sanders, H. J. R. Ariniger, J. S. McAlpine, and L. P. Cole gained their third-class engineers’ certificates, steam. Mr. D. E. Barwell gained his river engineers’ certificate, steam. Messrs. R. H. Jones, W. K. Dunnage, F. N. Hunt, T. A. L. Kelly. R. E. Smith, and W. R. Horn gained their first-class engineers’ certificates, oil. Mr. R. G. Blanc was successful in gaining his second-class engineer’s certificate, oil. The following are some of the results to hand in the June examinations: Mr. H. Ruegg gained his master's certificate, steam. Mr. R. H. Lane was successful in gaining his first-class engineer's certificate, oil. Mr. A. G. Ross gained his second-class engineer’s certificate, oil. Messrs. J. W. Burn and T. L. MacQuarie were successful in gaining their river engineers’ certificates, oil. r^, HE * TFORD CLEARED CURACAO.— The New Zealand Shipping Company ha« received advice that the Federal * Line steamer Hertford cleared Curacao on June 7, in continuation of her voyage from Auckland to London, Hamburg. Avonmoutli, Liverpool ancl Glasgow. She was dispatched from Auckland on May _, THE CANADIAN TRANSPORTER.— The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Transporter, which, after loading Zealand ports, left Auckland for New York, Boston and Montreal on May 6, arrived at New York on Wednesday. PAPANUI AT COLON.—En route from -sew York to New Zealand and Australia, the steamer Papanui arrived at Colon on A ednesday. The vessel is due at Auckland on July 7. and her other discharging ports are Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin, Sydney and Melbourne. WEIRBANK DUE MONDAY.—With a large cargo of nitrates from Antofagasta, Chile, the Bank Line motor-ship Weirbank is due in port at noon on Monday, according to her last radio advice. She is to discharge the local consignment at King's Wharf, to th*- agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., and sails later for Australian ports to complete unloadi ing.
