LECTURE ON MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

A lecture on the subject “The Development of Musical Instruments” will be given in the University Hall on Monday evening by Mr. L. A. Eady. The subject covers the development of musical instruments from early Ugvptian to present-day, with a number of interesting slides Familiar reference to modern instruments including the therimen, a remarkable re-cently-discovered instrument. There wil’ be a reflex on reproducing sound. Mr. Archie Don, a well-known musician, will demonstrate on a few instruments and special gramophone records descriptive as on the harpsichord, and others of interest. Mr. Des. Truner, has prepared and is responsible for the slides. This lecture is under the auspices of the Auckland Institute and the public is invited to attend.
