“SOUTH SEA ROSE” - Lenore Ulrie, gifted. Belasco star, displays her exotic charm at the Tivoli* and Plaza Theatres in “South Sea Rose.” her latest all -talking, allsinging and dancing starring feature for Fox Movietone.
“South Sea Rose” is a tensely romantic story tracing the tempestuous exploits of a madcap French maiden confined in a convent in the South Sea islands. She is rescued by the captain of a trading vessel who tricks her into a sea marriage in order to obtain a fortune which awaits the girl in France. The action is speedv at all times and the story unfolds with tense interest.
As the piquant tomboy, Miss Ulrie scores another fascinating character creation, and is ably supported b.v Charles Bickford in the principal male role.
A second attraction is being shown at the Tivoli in “Behind That Make-up,” a colourful and fast moving tale of stage life starring Hal Skellv.
