BOWLING
ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD THE STANLEY CLUB A successful season was reported at the annual meeting of the Stan ey j Bowling Club. The president, Mr. D j M. Jones, presided over a good attend- j ance of members. The financial statement showed that the club was in a sound position Mr. D M. Jones was unanimously reelected president for the 1930-31 season, and on resuming the position the chairman was accorded an enthusiastic reception. Other officers were elected as follow Vice-presidents. Messrs. Clarke. Lock, Purser, G. M. Reid, Wilson; hon. secretary', Mr. S. L. Weller; hon. treasurer, Mr. P. J. Hooker; general committee, Messrs. Bray, Chesney, Smith j White, Wrigley; match committee, ■ Messr. Cox, Smith. Wrigley. sole | selector, Mr. F. M. Cox; green super-< ' intendent, Mr. J. Ogilvie; hon auditor. Mr. J. A. Gentles: c ub coaches, Messr. Johnson, McMaster; delegates to the Auckland Centre, Messrs. G. M Reid, White. The secretary was instructed to convey to the president and members of the Auckland Centre the appreciation f the members of the club for their untiring efforts in the promotion of bowling. A special vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for providing afternoon tea. The prizes won during the past season were presented during the evening.
