FEILDING STOCK SALE
PRICES HOLD FIRM Press Association FEILDING, Friday. An extra large yarding of fat sheep comprising mostly lambs, was offered at the Feilding sale today. Prices remained firm, and all lines sold freely. Only a few pens of wethers were offered. and these brought high prices. Sheep were yarded in average numbers. Breeding ewes were not particularly sought, several lines going cheaply. A heavy yarding of fat cattle sold well, with prices probably a little better. Good beef made up to 35s a 1001 b. Dairy cattle were yarded in increasing numbers. Although there were some rough cows and heifers offered, which brought down the average, good lines sold firm at late rates. Following were the prices: Fat Lambs.—Black-face, woolly, prime. 21s 9d to 22s 3d: good, 20s to 20s 7d; medium, 17s 2d: lambs, not classed as woolly, prime, 17s 4d to 17s 6d; good, 16s 4d to 17s; medium, 15s; poor condition. 13s sd. Fat Ewes.—Prime, 16s 9d to 17s 6d: good. 15s to 15s 9d; medium. 12s 6d to 13s 9d; fat two-tooths, good, 19s to 22s 9d. Fat Wethers.—Prime, 295; good, 26s Bd. Store Sheep.—Four and six-tooth ewes, running with Southdown rams. 24s 4d; five-year ewes, running with Southdown rams, good line, 245: fourvear ewes, running with Romney rams. 18s 4d; two-tooth ewes, running with Romney rams, 20s; two-tooth wethers, good. 17s 2d; poor, 13s 6cl; black-face, woolly lambs, 9s 6d to 12s sd. Fat Cattle.—Polled Angus steers. £8 15s (35s a 1001 b): Shorthorn cows, £3 7s 6d: Shorthorn-cross. £7 12s.
Dairy Cattle.—Springing cows, £6 5s to £ll 15s: springing heifers. £G to £7 3 0s; heifers, in milk, £7 10s.
