PALMERSTON NORTH PASSES 20,000 MARK WILL SEEK OFFICIAL STATUS Press Association PALMERSTON N., Today. The Government statistician has notified the Palmerston North Borough Council that the town has the requisite population for a city, the nuxnber on April 1 being 20.150. Application will be made immediately for the issue of a proclamation declaring its city status.
