MORRINSVILLE NEWS
Lectures to children of schools in the Morrinsville district on the danger of running in front of traffic on the roads arc to be arranged by the Alorrinsvill© School Committtee. At the last meeting it was decided to secure tho services of an official of the Auckland Automobile Association to address children. Several country teachers had expressed their willingness to join in with the scheme.
More than SOO motor-drivers’ licences have been issued by the town clerk of Morrinsville since Alay 1. Alany of these were issued to motorists residing in the Piako county.
The Waikato Hospital Board notified the Alorrinsville Borough Council at the last meeting that the levy on the Alorrinsville borough for the year was £520 6s lid. This was £2O in excess of last year’s levy. To raise funds for asphalting the area round the Lincoln Street school building, and purchasing an additional piano, the Alorrinsville school committee decided at its last meeting to hold a house-to-house canvass. It was suggested that the committee should aim at raising £IOO. Another proposal to raise funds by a school concert was abandoned, all the members agreeing that it was better to raise funds by direct contribution.
