MR. ROBERT HANNAH The death Is announced from Wellington of air. Robert Hannah, of R. Hannah and Company, boot manufacturers. —CP-A-). MR. C O’DRISCOLL An old resident of the Te Puke district, Mr. Cornelius O’Driscoll, has died there at the age of 69. Born in Ireland, Mr. O’Driscoll came to New Zealand as a young man and engaged in farming in various parts of the Dominion. He is survived by his wife and seven children. MR. FRANCIS ROBINSON The death occurred at Herrington. Foxton, last night of Mr. Francis Robinson, J.P., eldest son of the late Captain Robinson, a pioneer settler of Manawatu. aged 84. Mr. Robinson was born in Foxton and was a wellknown farmer. In his younger days he was a polo player and athlete. was a former member of the Manawatu Countv Council. His only son was killed in the Great War.—(P.A.) MR. W. F. Y. STEWART The death has occurred of Mr. William Fairburn Young Stewart, a former prominent citizen of Te Awaniutu. Joining the Post Department in Dunedin, Mr. Stewart served in various centres and was at Te Awamutu for 12 years before being transferred to the Department of Internal Affairs. Since coming to Auckland Mr. Stewart has done valuable work among the blind, both at the Jubilee Institute and at their homes. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. MISS E. I. MILLER The death occurred on Wednesday evening at Pirongia, of Miss Emily Ingelby Miller, at the age of 73. Miss Miller was the daughter of the late Mr. Edward T. Miller, of Dulwich, London, who came to New Zealand in 1896, settling in the Pirongia district soon after arrival. Her brother, the late Mr. E. I. Miller, farmed a considerable area of land at Te Tahi, and. his sister first made her home with him. afterwards removing to the township of Pirongia. Miss Miller its survived by a brother, who resides in P.ritish Columbia MR. A. R. CRANE A prominent businessman in Whangarei and the only member of the Auckland Stock Exchange in Wht.ngarei, Mr. Arthur R. Crane, died yc sterday afternoon at the age of 66. Born in Sydney', Mr. Crane came to New Zealand as a young mar. and entered business in Whangarei. his company developing into the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-operative. Ltd. Mr. Crane retired from the managership 12 y'ears ago. and had been -nterosted in various businesses in Auckland and Whangarei. Mr. Crane is survived by his wife, one son and two uaughters. MR. JAMES ALLAN A native of Fifeshire, Scotland, and a well-known identity of Humly, Mr. James Allan, died at the Waikato Hospital on Tuesday after a brief illness. He was one of the olcF school of coal * mine officials and was 71 years of age. He had worked in the mines at the West Coast. Puponga (Nelson). Whangarei and the Waikato. Before proceeding to Pukemiro he was a valued member of the staff of the Taupirt Coal Company at Huntly and retired from the underground staff of the Pukemiro Collieries some few years 1 ack and lived privately at Huntly. A keen sportsman, a smart boxer in his younger days, cricket and football were included in his love for sport, and at 70 years of age he was not too old to be out on May 1 with his gun and dog. The funeral took place on Wednesday. the Rev. M. C. Gibb officiating in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. Mr. Allan leaves a widow, one son and one daughter, Mrs. F. Brook-
