Attendances at English Greyhound Races BOOM AT EASTER The attendances at the London greyhound tracks over the Easter weekend broke all records. All the ten meetings came in lor a patronage far and away above even the most optimistic predictions. It is impossible to say the sum total of those who went greyhound racing, as the actual figures arc not available. but that they easily constituted a record in the history of the sport is indisputable.
At Harringay on Easter Monday afternoon 20,593 paid for admission, and over the week-end the White City and Harringay tracks were up 9,000 on the corresponding meetings last year.
Wembley had a wonderful attendance on the Monday, being 4,000 up, and Clapton estimates its morning g-ate at 15,000, which also showed an increase of about 4,000. West Ham easily broke records, and at Wimbledon the attendance was 5,000 in excess of last year.
