Binding brakes caused a small outbreak of fire on a motor-truck in Beach Road this morning. The City brigade was summoned at 10.4 o’clock to the corner of Gittos Street and Beach Road. The brake lining- had caught fire, and the truck was in slight danger. No damage was done, however. The vehicle is owned by McCarten Brothers, and is insured in the New Zealand Office for £IOO.
