CHRISTENED “MATAI”
LADY WILFORD NAMES LIGHTHOUSE SHIP COMING TO NEW ZEALAND United P.A.—By Telegraph —Copyright Reed. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Sir Thomas W'ilford, New Zealand High Commissioner in London, and Lady Wilford were present at the launching at New-eastle-on-Tyne of the 228 ft. oil-burn ing steamer Matai, for the New Zea land Government. The vessel is intended primarily for the lighthouse visitation circuit, but has special accommodation for the Governor-Gen-eral’s tours. Lady wmora christened the Matai and wished the ship’s occupants good fortune.
