NEW GRAND MASTER.—Right Worshipful Brother Aubrey Halloran, has been elected Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New South Wales, in succession to the retiring Grand Master, the GovernorGeneral, Lord Stonehaven. NEW CARDINALS.—The Pope will hold a Consistory in Rome on July 3 for the creation of new cardinals. It 13 considered most probable that an Australian will be created. Archbishop Kelly, of Sydney, is the most hkely candidate. LEANING TOWER REPAIRED. — The difficult and dangerous reconstruction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa has been successfully completed. One of the columns in the upper part lias been removed and a stronger one inserted. PRESS DELEGATES AT HOME. — Tne- delegates to the Imperial Press i onference are visiting Liverpool. They drove round the citv this morning and inspected the docks. The visitors lunched with the Earl of Derby, after "'hich they attended a garden party Jiven by the Lord Mayor, Mr. J. D. Holt.
