p r> E. B. Gunson, of Auckland has been elected to a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. Captain and Mrs. Montague Polley, of London, arrived by the Rangitane this morning and are staying at the Grand Hotel. jjr. VV. W. Armstrong, the former Australian cricket captain, is staying at the Grand Hotel. He is on a business visit to New Zealand. jtfr. Winston G. Broadbent was today admitted as a solicitor of the .Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Ostler 3n the motion of Mr. J. J. Sullivan. Mr. A. J. Stratford left for Wellington last evening to wait on the Minister of Justice, with other members of the executive of the New Zealand Federation of Justices. Miss Grace Mackintosh, of Aberdeen. has been appointed principal of Columba Girls’ College, Dunedin, in succession to Miss Frances J. Ross. Miss Mackintosh, who is a graduate of Aberdeen University, will begin her new work in September. Mr. L. C. Webb, M.A., of Caius College, Cambridge University, and formerly of Christchurch, lias been awarded a vacation scholarship to enable him to attend the School of International Law and History at Geneva.
