FALCON CUP KNOCKOUT CELTS DOWN METRO-COLLEGE A hardy group of club enthusiasts gathered at Blandford Bark last evening under somewhat wintry conditions to witness the first round of the Falcon Cup knock-outs, when Celtic had n«» difficulty in eliminating Metro-Colleg® United by seven goals to niL Tho night air was distinctly fresh, while rain squalls and a slushy surface road* matters worse. The game was of a very patchy nature, and the B club failed to make much itnpression on th« senior team. The teams were: Celtic.—Russell, Harper, Kay, Milton. Grant, Jenkins, A. Hunter. C. Hunter, Gavan, Mclntyre, Grimes. Metro-College. Buddie, Andrews, Robinson, Ross. J. Col ledge. Pine, Huston, Massam, G. Colledge, Phillip*. Pollard. Referee.—Corporal M. Purse. In the first half Metro held its own fairly well at the start, but the Celt* showed better combination and tn* first goal came when Gavan headed Ju neatly from a well-placed corner hie* by A. Hunter. Then Grimes showed out on Celtic's left, and after two unsuccessful raids sent an accural# centre across to G. Hunter to net and put Celts two up at half-time. Grant opened up play for his front line in the second spell, and a me* combined move by the three insid© men saw Mclntyre finish it off with. # good goal. A few minutes later tli# left wing took a turn and Gavan applied the finishing touch. Grimes followed by putting his side five aheau, and Jerry Hunter finished up a go© J night's work by bagging another brace from the somewhat demoralised Metro
