BRITANNIA, THREE LAMPS
Two excellent talkies comprise the programme which is nightly attracting people to the Britannia Theatre. The first is "The Mississippi Gambler,” a colourful romance of life on a Mississippi river-boat in the middle of last century. Joseph Schildkraut is star. The second attraction is "Harmony at Home,” a charmingly different comedy of domestic discord in a typical middle-class American home. Maurice Chevalier, prince of personality. sings two of the hit songs in "Paramount on Parade,” Paramount's new show world film festival. The numbers are "Sweeping the Clouds Away” and "All I Want is Just One Girl.” Thirty-eight other Paramount personalities appear in the mammoth picture, which contains 20 elaborate specialty sketches.
