AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Stock auctioneers report holding sales during the past week as follow: The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report:—Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Papakura, and Waiuku (pig sale), with all classes of cattle and pigs selling at late rates. We quote: Best dairy cows and heifers, £ll to £l6 7s 6d; others, £7 to £lO 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £2 10s to £6 15s; bulls, £2 10s to £ S 3 ss; boner and store cows, £ 3 to £5 37s 6d: weaner heifers, £1 10s to £3 15s; weaner steers, £2 to £4 ss; yearling to 18-months heifers, £4 to £5 15s; yearling to-18-months steers, £4 7s 6d to £5 17s 6d; 2 to 2J-year steers, £6 to £7 7s 6d; 3 to 3A-year steers, £7 10s to £8 15s; grown steers. £9 to £9 17s Gd. Beef and pigs sold at full Westfield quotations. Alfred Buckland and Sons Limited, report:—During the week we held cattle sales at Pukekohe, Westfield, Wellsford and Tuakau, pig sales at Waiuku, Pukekohe and Tuakau, and clearing sales on account of Mr. W. H. Bayliss, Turua; .Mr. W. IT. C. Warren, Puni, and Mr. P. Grice, Glenbrook. Average yardings of store cattle came forward and sold at ruling values. Dairy cows and heifers were offered in increased numbers and continue to be in strong request. Fewer pigs were penned and sold at late rates. Best dairy cows brought £34 to £18; extra, up to £25; second-grade cows, £ 9 to £l3 10s; aged and inferior, £4 10s to £8 3 ss; best springing heifers, £l2 10s to £l7; average heifers, £9 to £l2; small and backward heifers, £5 5s to £8 17s 6cl. Mr. P. Grice’s herd of 42 cows averaged £ls. Empty young cows and heifers made £3 10s to £5; store and boner cows, £1 10s to £ 5 ss; fat cows and heifers, £5 10s to £lO ss; fat steers, £3O 10s to £l4 ss; cows v/ith calves, £5 10s to £9 15s: three to four-year-old steers, £8 to £9 3 0s; two to three-year-old steers, £6 15s to £8; yearling to two-year-old steers, £5 to £6 10s; weaner heifers, £3 30s to £4; weaner steers, £2 to £3 18s; heavy bulls, £6 5s to £8 37s 6d: sound young herd bulls, £4 4s to £l6 16s; other bulls, £1 30s to £4. U.S.A. WHEAT CROP WASHINGTON, Tuesday. The Department of Agriculture estimates that the 1930 wheat crop will total 532,469,000 bushels, according to the conditions at June 1, or 71.7 per cent, of the normal yield an acre. Winter wheat is estimated at 13.8 bushels. The condition of durum wheat at June 1 was S 6 per cent, of normal and all spring wheat 85.7 per eent. The probable crop of hard red winter wheat is estimated at 325,000,000 bushels. The spring generally was favourable for early crop planting and the dry conditions over much of the area from centra] Missouri eastward has not seriously harmed the crops in those districts. N.Z. FRUIT PRICES HAMBURG, Tuesday. The New Zealand pears brought by the Middlesex realised the following prices a case:—Barry. Ss 6d to 11 s’ Winter Coles, 10s to 11s; Winter Nelis, 10s 6d to 11s 9d; Keiffers, 11s to 13s’ Vicars, 9s 6d to 12s 3d; Boses. 14s 3d to 16s 6d.
