PRESBYTERY MEETS

PAYMENT OF CONTRIBUTIONS The monthly meeting of the Auckland Presbytery was held at St David’s Church last evening. The Rev. F. A. Thompson, moderator, presided. A half-yearly statement of contributions to the schemes of the Church was submitted by Mr. V. G. Chapman, of Wellington, the Assembly treasurer. This showed that the Auckland Presbytery had been asked to contribute £4.350 for the year, and that for the half-year ended cn May 18 a sum of £1.037 had been received. The treasurer urged that funds be remitted at least quarterly. The Presbytery appointed a committee to co-operate with the Assembly Home Mission Committee in arrapging summer schools for home missionaries. • The Life and Work Committee was asked to arrange a retreat for ministers before next Presbytery meeting.
