PLAYER BARRED FOR FIVE YEARS RUGBY UNION’S DECISION From our oiun Correspondent DARGAVILE, Today. W. E. Smith, a Ruawai player in the Tangowahine-Ruawai senior match at Tangowahine on Saturday, was ordered off a few minutes before the final whistle for “cheeking” the referee, Mr. M. C. Astley. When the referee approached the dressing shed after the match, Smith struck him . face. This breach was discussed at the Northern Wairoa Rugby Union’s meeting last evening. Smith was suspended from playing football for five season’s and barred from entering any ground under the Northern Wairoa Rugby Union’s jurisdiction during that period-, •„ ,
