CONCESSION TO WORKERS
TRANSPORT BOARD APPROACHED In view of the satisfactory position of the Auckland Transport Board the Mount Albert Ratepayers’ ond Residents’ Association asked the board this morning to reconsider a request for further concessions in fares for workers. When the board was first approached in March it replied that it was unable tc. make any alterations in the existing conditions. The chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, moved today that the letter be received and the writers informed that the time was not opportune to consider an adjustment of fares which would result in decreased revenue. Mr. M. J. Coyle suggested that as soon as the board was in a position is should give consideration to privileges for workers using the undertaking. The chairman’s motion was agreed to.
