PHANTOM ROLLS-ROYCE
FIRST 40-50 CHASSIS HERE A Rolls-Royce Pliantom 11. chassis, the first of Its type to arrive in New Zealand, is at present in the workshopof Johnson and Smith, body-builders, Christchurch. The chassis will be provided with a seven-seater saloon body to the order of a Dunedin man. The body is being built on a steel sub-frame supplied by Rolls-Royce. The timber framing is to be of English ash with kauri floor fitted witli insulated rubber packing, and the floating dash will be away from the bonnet. Four-point chassis suspension will be employed. Body panelling will be in aluminium. A single windscreen will be fitted. There will be electric screen wipers, a dictaphone, interior glass partition set in silver-plated frames, triplex glass, special folding seats, cabinets with secret drawers and cupboards, finished in ebony. The furnishings will include Ramese silk with inside roof trimmings in gold coloured velour with silk lace finishings. Pile carpets on the floor will blend with all trim mings. All fittings inside and outside will be silver-plated. Duco will be used, finished in royal maroon and black with special high lustre.
