The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Public Works, was a passenger to Frankton Junction from the South by the Limited this morning. He is now at Arapuni. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, travelled South on the Limited last evening. He was accompanied by Mrs. Donald. Sir Alexander Herdman was a passenger from Auckland to Frankton Junction by the Limited last evening. Major and Mrs. Bathurst leave for Rotorua tomorrow for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Day will return to Wellington on Wednesday or Thursday. Mr. P- Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, left Auckland for the South last evening. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt. S.M., was a passenger to Frankton Junction by the Limited tiiis morning. Brigadier 11. R. Potter, commander of the Northern Military Command, left for the South on li«t evening’s Limited express. Mr. George Finn, president of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association, was a passenger to Wellington on the Limited last evening. Lieutenant El worthy, FI.N. aid e-de-ramp to the Governor-General, left for Wellington last evening. He will pay a short visit to his home near Timaru. Mr. Drummond Holderness, engineer to the Auckland Harbour Board, returned this morning by the Limited. He has been a member of the commission which sat at Christchurch to consider harbour proposals for Christchurch. Mr. C. M. Ollivier, chairman of the Fuller-Hayward Corporation, arrived from the Bay of Plenty yesterday afternoon by motor. He is accompanied by his wife and his daughter. Miss Lois Ollivier, and they will be at the Grand Hotel till tomorrow. Mr. Spencer Mason, president of the Auckland Aero Club, returned by the Limited this morning. He attended the conference of aviation clubs at Wellington, which agreed to the formation of the New Zealand Aero Club. Mr. Mason is an executive officer of the new organisation.
