CONFERENCES NEEDED
FARMERS’ VIEWS A. AND P. COUNCIL MEETS “We are having altogether too many conferences with the provincial, North Island and Dominion conferences we attend every year. I doubt if we are getting value for money,” declared Air. G. W. Norrisli at a meeting of the council of the Auckland A. and P. Association yesterday, when a letter was received regarding the annual North Island conference of the New Zealand A. and P. Association at Palmerston North on June 19. “We are rather an important body and must do our part in helping farmers throughout the Dominion,” the president, Mr. J. T. F. Mitchell, pointed out. Alembers agreed that delegates should attend the conference, and selected Mr. Alitchell and the secretary, Air. W. F. O’Donnell. Remits are to be prepared for submission to the conference, which will be held during the Manawatu Show from June 17 to 24
4. A conference regarding- the Royal Show will be held in Wellington in July, when a number of papers bearing on important questions affecting farmers will be delivered. The conference will be opened by the Gover-nor-General. A remit to be forwarded by Auckland will suggest that the autumn is the proper time for a Royal Show as there is a better standard of exhibits than in the spring, as at present. Auckland has made an application for the Royal Show to be held here in 1932.
