MUSICAL HOOTER
MAKES WAY FOR QUEEN Queen Mary’s motor-car has been equipped with a musical “hooter” to remind inattentive traffic policemen not to keep her waiting behind a stop and go signal. She already had an identification disc on the automobile but this has not always been enough to obtain a clear road for her Majesty, with a consequent delay in keeping some of her appointments.
Special instructions have been issued to all metropolitan police so that they will be able to recognise the peculiar notes of the new “hooter,” but the tune it plays is . a carefully guarded secret from the general public.
