ALEXANDRA, GREEN LANE

“Navy Blues” a talkie comedy starring William I-laines and Karl Bane i-s at the Alexandra Theatre this evening. There is more than good comedy In the film, and Haines shows himself quite as good at depicting the more serious side of life as causing laughs, though he is chiefly concerned with doing the latter. Anita Page is very charming as the heroine, and Karl Dane as a big Swedish “gob” is responsible for much merriment. The supporting programme is particularly goo a d, and includes some good topical items, some fine songs, and a very amusing comedy.
