The business achieved during the first veek’s screening, the first time an “outside” picture has earned this distinction since the opening of the huge Roxy Theatre, the largest in the world. In order to fully exploit the wonderful singing voice of John Boles, the star of “Captain of the Guard.” a number « f attractive song numbers are introduced into the picture, including “For You.” “Maids on Parade.” “Can It Be?” “For You Alone.” “Song of the Sword” and “Silhouette.” “Captain of the Guard” is based on the birth of the famous French anthem, “La Marseillaise," which figures conspicuously through the production.
